Today in Courage Circle we shared many stories about elves. After circle we had Math/Art. In Math/Art we had to make vertical, diagonal and horizontal lines to make shapes. We made the lines from North to South or East to West on our papers. Mr. Bhachu gave us direction of what kind of lines to draw and we followed. Then we went out for recess. When we came back we continued for a short time until we went to gym. And then we came back and tried to finish our Art. Not many students did. After lunch we worked with our buddies to finish a maze that we started the last time we met. It was fun. To end the day we all finished our Art and began work on our Auction. Just a reminder that tomorrow is a half day and the last day before break. Wear your pajamas. Also bring in your field trip forms. Please let Mr. Bhachu know if you can volunteer.

Something strange happened today. We started with Sam Yuk Gu and then Courage Circle. There were many silly stories shared about Elf on the Shelf. One elf fell off of a picture. Book Exchange was next before we went to gym. Music was after. We then started a story called The Legend of Hong Kil Dong. It is a Robin Hood type story from Korea. This led to much discussion around culture. After lunch we continued the story till recess. After recess we worked on adding and subtracting in Math through problem solving.
Homework: Ask your parents about Robin Hood. Tell the what you know. Don't forget to bring donations for the food bank. Blog written by Mr. Bhachu In Courage Circle everybody shared. There were many questions about Elf on a Shelf such as, How old she/he is, So, students came up with 3 good questions to ask Elf on a Shelf in their writing scribblers. Students then shared their questions with the rest of the class before going out for recess. When we came back we worked on comparing and ordering numbers in math. After lunch we had gym and music. We finished the day by having our auction in which new jobs were bid on.
Homework: Try skip counting by 5's backwards. Blog written mostly by Mr. Bhachu This morning we did not do Courage Circle because we had lots of stuff to finish. So instead, we started the day by completing Auction 6. For Auction, we wrote a letter to our parents about 3 things we are proud of in school that we have learned. After Auction we had a snack and then went to gym. Today was Rory's birthday and he shared delicious cupcakes with all of us. After Gym, Mr. Bhachu read What About Me? one more time. Then we got our Bhachu Bucks before lunch. After lunch we worked on learning about Natural Resources in Alberta. Then we added this information to our slideshows. After recess, it was challenging as we tried to make oragami envelopes for our Bhachu Bucks.
Homework: Talk to your parents about Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday evening and Friday morning. Blog written by Mr. Bhachu and elves. In Courage Circle many people shared about December and Elf on the Shelf. We learned that some people have different types of Santa that they celebrate at home. This was an example of cultural differences. In Math we made riddles about numbers. We had to use key vocabulary. Next we had gym and music. After we worked on computers to tell about the Prairie. After lunch we watched a movie about Alberta and we had to take notes. After recess we worked on retelling a story using a storyboard. Mr. Bhachu read a story called "What about Me?" and we planned a storyboard for it.
Homework: Practice the dance on the blog. Blog written by an uncreative Mr. Bhachu Students will be performing a dance together. Ms. Swanson would like students to practice at home. Please watch and practice.
Scooby-Doo Pop Pop https://soundkreations.com/cctcdanceoff/ In Courage Circle a couple of students were sad for different reasons. In math, we had to prove to Mr. Bhachu that we knew different strategies for adding and subtracting. We created our own equations and answered them using strategies and then got them checked. After recess we worked on reading and writing. We had to choose a book from our cart, read it and then retell it in our writing scribblers. After lunch we had gym and music. We also got to visit the book fair.
