Today we gathered quickly and then went straight to the crowded gym for a little bit of an assembly. Then we ourselves went wild outside playing sports and eating a Mr. Freeze. When we came back in we were treated to a slide show of us participating in an exciting sports day. In the afternoon we finished The Wild Robot and then we had free time to play Prodigy on the Ipads. Oh, we cannot forget that our little winged friends were set free to create families of their own. It is a half day tomorrow.
Summer Homework: Use google slides at home to create a presentation about your summer.

We are celebrating Summer Solstice Sports Day at Bridlewood School tomorrow Tuesday June 25th, 2019. It will be held in the morning, fingers crossed, we hope it doesn’t rain.
Please dress for the weather. Make sure to wear your brightest, most colourful clothes or a tie-dye shirt if you have one. See you tomorrow! In Courage circle we shared about exiting things. On computers we continued working on our slideshow called 2D shapes and 3D objects. After snack and gym we played the game you had to answer with a question. after lunch we continued reading the wild robot and righted about the story we red. Next we did our butterfly sketches.
Homework: Tell your parents about the butterflies. Blog written by Keyn , Justin and Kabir Today in Courage Circle It was classic. Next we used computers and made a new slide show called 2D Shapes and 3d objects. After snack and recess we drew a butterfly lifecycle.
Blog written by Justin. Our highlight of the day was being able to hear our classmates sing a beautiful song called Children Together. There were 3 performances, grade 1, grade 2, and grade 3. We played a game where 2 people had to have a conversation using only questions. It was very challenging but fun. We moved our caterpillars from their individual cups to a large mesh tent. One caterpillar started turning into a chrysalis. We look forward to seeing them on Monday.
Homework: Teach someone the question asking conversation game. Today we had the opportunity to create art that will become a permanent fixture on 2 of our community utility boxes. The art was focused around the theme of How Does Bridlewood Take a Chance? Students used water colors to represent taking a chance when learning. Students were asked to represent how they feel when they are taking a chance. We had an initial strip of paper which we painted. Those strips of paper will now go to another class which will draw pictures on them. We then received strips of paper that had already been painted by Grade 5 students and were asked to draw on them to represent us taking a chance. We look forward to our art being on the utility boxes and appreciate the opportunity to work with Sharon Fortowsky.
Hello Bridlewood!
Please remember Tuesday June 4th, 2019 is Bike to School Day. It is a day we like to challenge our teachers and students to ride their bikes to school, in hopes of increasing physical activity and school spirit within our students. Please remember to wear your helmetand have it labeled with your name. Parents, please review bike safety rules with your children before they come to school. Please make sure your bike is labeled with your name, grade and teacher. Students that go home for lunch will lock their bikes up as usual at the bike racks. All students that eat lunch at school will enter the gym through the compound doors and store their bikes under their grade name and teacher for the day. At the end of the day, we will call grade groups down to pick up their bikes for dismissal from the gym. Please remember to walk your bike across the crosswalks and school property so we can keep everyone safe. The doors to the gym will open at 8:00 am on the compound to help you safely park your bike in our gym. Our goal is to have at least 375 people bike to school. Let’s beat our record Bridlewood! Remember parents, students would love to see you out on your bikes with them on Tuesday June 4th, 2019, supporting the event and being active. Please watch the weather forecast, if it’s supposed to rain all day, the event will be canceled. Happy pedaling Bridlewood! The usual happened today. Number Talks, Math, Recess, Reading, Writing and Computers. But then, our special guest caterpillars arrived. We put them into their new homes where they will become Butterflies. We will observe them daily.
Homework: Create 3 sentences that describe height. For example, My brother is taller than me. Today in the morning there was a substitute teacher. In circle, we shared about our wonderful selves. Then we had equations we had to solve and some of us had equations from the substitute. On computers we put our Iris videos in, worked on our slides and had free time on prodigy. Then we read the Wild Robot after gym. After lunch Mr. Bhachu was back in business and he made us do lots of work. He told us that the substitute teacher was very impressed with our respectful behavior in the morning. It made us happy.
Homework: Count to 200 while playing outside. In Courage Circle we shared our experiences from yesterday. Then we did True or False Tuesday for number talks. We went to the learning commons, gym and music. In gym, we had Ms Gordon because Ms. Swanson was away. After snack, everyone finished testing their first boat. Some were working on their second boat which should be better. After lunch we had quiet reading with our new books. After we went straight into computers and first worked on our Iris Videos or Slideshow about boats. We had recess. After recess, we worked on our articles. We looked at the cause and effects of Asian Carp.
Homework: Tell your parents about how you changed your boat to make it better. Also tell them what you know about the Great Lakes and Asian Carp. |
